The Macao Orchestra’s annual feature, the Young Musicians Audition Programme of “The Future of Classical Music”, will open for registration from 3 November until 12 December 2025. For those who are prepared, it’s time to showcase your talent to a wider audience!
Each season, the Macao Orchestra presents the “The Future of Classical Music” concert, providing the public with an opportunity to appreciate the musical accomplishments of young talents and offering Macao students and music enthusiasts a holistic experience of participating in a professional orchestra to elevate their musical abilities. This season’s “The Future of Classical Music” concert is scheduling for 16 May 2026. To ensure participants gain a complete practical experience from auditions to the actual performance of professional orchestra, they are required to take part in the Orchestra’s audition process.
Applicants eligibility：
1. Macao ID holders (including permanent and non-permanent)
2. (or) Student ID holders issued by Macao tertiary level education organisations or Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau
3. Birth year of 2013 or earlier.
Rehearsal and Concert Dates：
Dates for Rehearsals：Sectional rehearsals are planning to take place on 19, 26 April 2026 and 3, 10 May 2026; while orchestra rehearsals are planning to take place between 11 and 16 May 2026.
*Please note that the detailed schedule will be confirmed and announced later.
** Applicants must need to attend over 80% of rehearsals (both sectional rehearsals and orchestra rehearsals) in order to participate in the concert.

Selection Process：
Eligible applicants will receive an email notification from the Macao Orchestra containing audition details by 9 January 2026 or before. The audition is scheduled to be held in February 2026.
*Instruments of audition and audition excerpts will be announced on 3 November 2025.
