At Antonín Dvořák’s suggestion, his favorite student – the Czech composer Suk – infused joy into Serenade in E-flat Major, thus making the piece touching and pleasant. Inspired by German poet Richard Dehmel, in order to express the complexity of human nature, Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg gave full play to romantic harmonics in his Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night) completed in 1899, with brilliant effects. Francis Kan will be conducting the Macao Orchestra to deliver these two string masterpieces. Don’t miss it!
