The celebrated Japanese drama Nodame Cantabile, story based on classical music, was once the talk of the town after it was aired in 2006. Conductor Yao-Yu Wu only appeared on stage as a conductor for the first time in his fourth academic year, though he won the prestigious International Besancon Competition for Young Conductors as a 24-year-old to become the first Chinese conductor to be awarded the honour in ten years after Wing Sie Yip and Shao-Chia Lü. Together with the second prize winner at the Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD, Chinese pianist Claire Huang Ci to deliver a show for fans with highlights of Nodame Cantabile.
