To celebrate the merry and venerable Christmas, Macao Orchestra brings to music fans a brilliant festival concert: The “Aquarium” is one of the most exquisite numbers in Carnival of the Animals, in which the few instruments Saint-Saëns chose evoke vividly the flowing water and aquatic animals swimming shiningly in the light; “Christmas Overture” by African-English composer Coleridge-Taylor, where a medley of familiar Christmas songs are masterly adapted to bring out the holiness and joy of the festival;  lastly, Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” Suite No. 1 is a ‘Christmas-themed’ classic, where the elves from all over the world dance gracefully, evoking Hoffmann’s magical kingdom.
