Simon-Olivier

Born in Joliette, Canada, Simon-Olivier Tétreault studied trombone at the Geneva Music Conservatory (Switzerland), followed by the Conservatoire de Musique du Québec where in 2009, received the First Prize in Trombone with great distinction (Magna cum laude).

As a student Simon has won several local and national music competitions. During that period he has participated in different orchestra academy programs such as The World Youth Orchestra in Italy (WYO), The National Youth orchestra of Canada (NYOC), The National Academy Orchestra of Canada (NAO), L’Orchestre de la Francophonie Canadienne (OFC) and others.

During those years Simon has been regularly performing on the trombone, euphonium and bass trumpet with numerous amateur and professional orchestras, brass bands, wind bands and chamber ensembles around Asia, Europe and North America such as the Zürcher Kammerorchester (Zurich, Switzerland), L’Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal (Montreal, Canada), L’Orchestre Symphonique de Québec (Québec city, Canada), The Hamilton Philharmonic (Hamilton, Canada), Orquesta Sinfónica de Monterrey (Monterrey, Mexico), The Asia-Pacific United Orchestra (Europe tour), just to name a few.

In 2010, Simon was appointed Principal Trombone of the Monterrey Symphony Orchestra and, in 2011, joined the Macau Orchestra as Second Trombone.
