Recognised as one of the most brilliant organists on the international scene and having already served as the Notre-Dame de Paris Titular Organist for a decade, Vincent Dubois arrives in Macao to perform on the Sé Catedral’s newly installed instrument. Not only will there be baroque masterpieces, but also a wide range of French works by Balbastre, Vierne, Debussy, Dupré and Poulenc. While the Debussy works were originally intended for piano (thus arranged), the grandest work in the programme is Poulenc’s Organ Concerto with timpani and strings. Sé Catedral’s organ, newly arrived in Macao earlier this year, was made by Canada’s Casavant Frères, comparable in fame as Steinway & Sons in the piano world.
