Long before the Oscar-winning film Amadeus charted the course of Mozart’s life, the world has appreciated the composer’s genius, his wide-ranging repertory forming the canon for beginners and professionals alike. The first of three concerts offer his first three violin concertos (Mozart was a child prodigy on the violin and well as the keyboard). The concertos (with sketches dating from 1773, when he was 17) are youthful and energetic, tinged with baroque and rococo influence; we come face to face with the creative expanse of this Classical genius.
