Any season opening is a worthy celebration, but a concert jampacked with outstanding performers and repertoire is even more so. Renowned for vibrant orchestral colours, Frenchman Maurice Ravel is heavily represented, each work defined by way of dance, from the crowd-pleasing Boléro and dream-like Pavane pour une infante défunte to the Suite No. 2 from his ballet Daphnis et Chloé. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto is a virtuosic whirl for any soloist, a test in elegance and poise where all three movements are intricately linked. Everyone is invited to join this momentous occasion witnessing the Macao debut of Korean rising star Inmo Yang, eagerly greeting a new beginning.
