The Macao Orchestra pays additional tribute to Mozart with a masterpiece from the composer’s late period, a crossover fusing both symphonic and concerto forms. In recent years, internationally-renowned violin virtuoso Julian Rachlin has also taken up the baton, extending his musical prowess as a conductor (and often doubling his roles on stage). The three works in this programme span the classical and romantic periods, manifesting drama and emotions that are impactful yet filled with poise. We are in for a treat to appreciate musical elegance and melodic perfection at their best, especially in Mendelssohn’s beloved “Scottish” Symphony.
