In advance of Philip Glass\u2019s landmark 90th birthday in January 2027, the Macao Orchestra presents two unique evenings in the historic Mandarin\u2019s House, featuring five of Glass\u2019s string quartets. Many people have been captivated by the minimalist movement, enchanted by the pulsating motifs and gradual harmonic shifts also found in Glass\u2019s Hollywood film scores. However, the composer prefers to identify his style as \u201cmusic with repetitive structures\u201d, eschewing broad artistic labels. Regardless, these two concerts are unique opportunities to live and breathe the mesmerising, trance-like quality of Glass\u2019s music. Not to be missed!<\/p>\n
