Works of art live long after the death of their creators. In March 1827, when Beethoven died, a part of his legacy were forty sketches for his Symphony No. 10. In 2021, a historic restoration and reimagination took place in Bonn\u2014Beethoven\u2019s birthplace\u2014where a team of experts in machine learning and musicology used AI to finish what the composer left us. Another \u201cunfinished\u201d work that captured music lovers\u2019 imagination is Mahler\u2019s Tenth, of which the orchestration of the Adagio was completed by the composer. Russian virtuoso Denis Matsuev performs Prokofiev\u2019s Second Piano Concerto to round out this programme in which we probe the meaning of \u201cgenius\u201d and \u201cposterity\u201d.
