Richard Strauss, a great German composer and conductor, had a long artistic career of 70 years. He not only experienced the ups and downs of late romanticism, but also witnessed the drastic changes in the western music scene in the first half of the 20th century. The Serenade composed by the composer at the age of 16 and the Concerto for Orchestra written at the age of 81 demonstrate how his music styles developed at the beginning and end of his career, and reflect the distant echoes across time and space.<\/p>\n
