[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”31298″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Macao Orchestra (OM) is currently recruiting guest musicians to join its upcoming concerts. Musicians with excellent performance and ensemble skills are welcome to submit video(s) for assessment. Any applicant passing the assessment would be invited to rehearse and perform in OM\u2019s concerts.<\/p>\n

We are now recruiting guest musicians of:<\/p>\n

First and second violins (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\nviola (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\ncello (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\ndouble bass (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\nflute (also piccolo) (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\noboe (English horn) (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\nclarinet (also, Eb clarinet and bass clarinet) (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\nbassoon (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\nFrench horn (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\ntrumpet (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\ntrombone (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\ntuba (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>
\ntimpani and percussion (Download the assessment excerpts)<\/a>

Guest musicians are responsible for:<\/strong><\/span>
\n1. <\/strong>Participating in OM\u2019s rehearsals and performances, and working with other members of the orchestra;
\n2. <\/strong>Attending rehearsals and performances on time as arranged by OM or its conductor;
\n3. <\/strong>Except instruments provided by orchestra, musicians have to provide their own instrument and equipment for rehearsals and performances and complying with the rules and arrangements of the venue.<\/p>\n

Applicants shall:<\/strong><\/span>
\n1. <\/strong>Be at least 18 years of age with good playing and ensemble skills and experience;and can adapt to different musical styles.
\n2. <\/strong>Have good English language skills and communication skills and be a team player.<\/p>\n

Required application materials:<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u00b7<\/strong>Application form (download)<\/span><\/a><\/span>
\n\u00b7<\/strong>Copy of identity document;
\n\u00b7<\/strong>Resume (in Chinese or English);
\n\u00b7<\/strong>Copy of academic qualifications;
\n\u00b7<\/strong>A valid link (of Google Drive or Baidu Netdisk) to the downloadable MP4 video(s) showing the applicant playing solo and technically challenging segment(s) as for an orchestra.<\/p>\n

Requirements for the applicant\u2019s performance video(s):<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Solo Piece(s):<\/u>
\nEnsure that the applicant\u2019s face, hands, and instrument are clearly visible. There must be no accompaniment. Pauses are allowed when switching to another part, but the video shall not be edited, or modified in any way.<\/p>\n

Orchestral excerpt(s):<\/u><\/p>\n

  1. The video(s) shall be in MP4 format. Separate videos are allowed for the solo and the orchestral excerpt(s). Each video\u2019s size shall be between 500 – 800 MB.<\/li>\n
  2. Upload the video(s) to Baidu Netdisk (in which case, please provide the extraction code) or to Google Drive and email the download link to
    \nom-recruit@ moc.com.mo. The video file(s) shall be named after the applicant. DVD format will not be accepted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n2<\/strong>. Email the completed form to om-recruit@moc.com.mo;
    \n3. <\/strong>Download the copies of sheet music(can be downloaded on the official website)
    \n4. <\/strong>Email the Application Materials and a link to the video(s) to
    \nom-recruit@ moc.com.mo at or before (GMT+8) 23:59 on 21 August 2023, in the following subject line format: Name + intended position, e.g. \u201cChan Tai Ming, Guest Musician for Cello\u201d. Any late application or an application with incomplete materials will not be accepted.<\/p>\n
