Deemed a fiendishly difficult work\, the pianist shines amid the orchestra in movements energetic\, lyrical and whimsical. Romeo and Juliet is the composer’s first ballet created for production in the Soviet Union. Before the full dance work appeared on stage\, Prokofiev generated two orchestral suites with highlights.
