The play’s multiple levels of romance and humour have inspired generations of artists\, none more popular than Felix Mendelssohn\, whose marvellous balance of classicism and romanticism is most famously displayed in a Wedding March that has won the hearts (and celebrated the nuptials) of countless couples. This adaptation by Yuan-pu Chiao features all of the incidental music that Mendelssohn penned for the play\, and the Macao Orchestra is joined by soloists and the female chorus of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus.
