Fado touches the heart and gives us solace\, speaking to the realities of fate and everyday life. It draws on musical styles not only from the Iberian peninsula but also immigrant cultures from Latin America and Africa. Mariza\, who rose to prominence at the memorial for Rodrigues in 1999\, returns to Macao to open our hearts to both old and new saudades (“yearnings”).
