The two works presented in this concert fall into this type: Mozart’s K. 563\, although named as a divertimento\, is a mature string trio with depth\, quite different from most other divertimentos by his contemporaries; on the other hand\, Schumann’s Op. 44 combines piano with a string quartet\, creating a new type of piano quintet in history and thus creating a profound impact on future generations.
