Beethoven, classical music’s giant, worked tirelessly throughout his life and his nine symphonies stand as the pinnacle of Western music. On the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven in 2020 Macao Orchestra Assistant Conductor Francis Kan will direct the orchestra to perform the composer’s four symphonies, while also shedding light on the compositions. Beethoven Symphony No. 1 is filled with energy, No. 5 represents fate knocking at the door, while the 7 th is joyful and lively, and the 8th symbolizes rebirth. All together, these performances well represent Beethoven’s powerful and stirring, magnificent music.
